Ancient art meets modern technology. I love these kinds of things. This time its a ceramic shelled mobile phone that was unveiled by the designer from designer in Jingdezhen. This province has been known as China’s porcelain capital and the phone design is inspired by the traditional Chinese art of ink painting. I love Chinese traditional art work and if it can be on my mobile phone,I would be in heaven.

I do wish they would make this available in the market or team up with a phone maker to make something like a limited edition series..

I actually missed cruising about for the latest Asian singles and MV’s. I think I’ve been out of the loop for a time already so I got myself updated this afternoon. And got some goodies. 2PM released the MV for “Hands Up (East4A Mix)” thru their Youtube channel. For 2PM fans, I’m pretty sure you know that the single Hands Up has been making chart headlines since it was released so it was nice to see a new video.

The MV was shot in Singapore and features the hotties Junsu, Nichkhun, Taecyeon, Wooyoung, Chansung and Junho having a whale of a time onboard a luxury yacht. Hmm, cool looking, if I may say so. I was hoping to see them in something sporty, maybe with some sport goggles, but this MV’s nice. I think I’m turning into a fan? Huh?

I was hanging out in one of my favorite crafting network site – Etsy.com and I was searching for Asian themed paper products, party favors and birthday invitations. We have a family party coming up in a few months and were thinking of incorporating Asian elements to the theme. I’m really partial towards elegant Japanese scenes and designs so I ended up oohh ahhing over some really awesome crafts that are Japanese inspired.

I specially loved this Kanji Notecard Set by BadCandyStudios. I love the colors used and the idea that you can pick a notepad set with 8 words you picked in Kanji.

And its affordably priced too! I might just order a few sets and these would make excellent gifts too..

I could never get enough of Japanese ingenuity and creative flair! The earthquake and the nuclear crisis was a really sad and tragic incident but it also makes me admire the trademark Japanese stoicism and unity. And in a time of crisis they band together and use their creativity and technological prowess. While others might wallow in non-essential stuff like dark circles under eyes treatment {seriously, who would think of this at a great time of need}, trust the Japs to come up with another cool innovation.

The Ho! Toilet, an emergency toilet for use in areas afflicted by disasters. This toilet was developed to be useable with peace of mind when there are no toilets or running water, and by putting the supplied tablets into the toilet in advance, odors can be suppressed for approximately one year. I wish I could my hands on one hahaha! I kinda like the feature where the odors can be suppressed! Impressive right? And its quite affordable. ¥500 for a single kit, ¥1,000 for a package of four kits, and ¥2,000 for 10 sets of tablets.

It has been awhile since I last posted something about music. Not that I’m not enjoying music anymore, I was simply preoccupied with Asian fashion magazines for a time. Anyway, SNSD recently released the full music video of their single Mr. Taxi. Check it out..

Hmm, you might ask why am I gushing about something as mundane as an airline t-shirt souvenir. Sure, they are nothing compared to and iPad or say Apple accessories but the packaging makes it standout!

It’s a shirt shaped and packed like a plane! How cool is that?! Packaging and presentation after all is one of the biggest factors that can attract your consumers. If its me, I wouldn’t want to wear this. I’d leave this like it is – like a plane!

The shirt is made by ‘Here! Sod’ brand with package designed by Prompt Design, Thailand.Hmm, makes me wanna fly Air Asia soon again and grab one for myself.

I’m constantly browsing news about Japan now particularly since the earthquake and tsunami disaster. I can’t help but feel for the Japanese people. I dearly hope they could surpass this challenge and recovery would be swift for everyone. Let’s all continue to pray for Japan and their wonderful people.

Anyway, I wanted to feature something light about Japan. Something to take our minds off a bit from the tragedy and showcase something awesome about this country. Here’s one reason why I want to really really visit Japan one day. Their wide selection of weird, unique, youd-only-taste-in-Japan flavors!! From Coke to Pepsi to weird teas, here’s a new one – Kitkat Japan Flavors!!!

I came across these at a very cool blog called UFunk.Net who took it upon themselves to hunt for the weird and cool KitKat Flavors.

First they found the Kit Kat with Caramelized Sweet Potato flavor

Then they found the Macha (japanese green tea) flavored Kit-Kat

Then there’s wasabi, soy sauce, yellow sweet patato,purple sweet potato, cheese cake, and annin dofu (Japanese dessert with almonds)

And I just love the packaging!! They really come up with funky stuff.
