Welcoming the Dragon Year!

How’s everyone? It’s the second day of the year of the dragon and I’m still buzzed. We had a fun fun time since the Chinese New Year is one of the biggest celebrations in the family. It’s the time for us to all be together, cook food, make offerings to our ancestors.

Year of the Dragon

And yesterday, it was a day for merriment, more food and fun. It was not a day for mellow, mood music like what an acoustic guitar brings in but noisy, blaring drum rolls to usher in the year of the Dragon. Everywhere here in the city, there were dragon/lion dance performances. The Chinese do believe this wards off evil spirits and ushers in good vibes and luck.

New year for me means new beginnings. And always I feel more drive to work more, succeed more. And I’m wishing everyone to have great tidings this year. Xin Nian Kuai Lei, dear readers!

Gong Xi Fa Cai!

The international new year just ended and here we are preparing for Chinese New Year! I always look forward to new years! It’s a start and it always pays to have a positive and energetic mind set. It’s also always a great time to set goals and make wishes. So whether you wish for prosperity, peace, business luck  or even something as simple as stainless steel jewelry, it never hurts to give it a try.

As for me I want to wish for good health for my family, myself and my friends. Prosperity and good luck for my ‘ventures’ this year. And also the chance to extend my gratitude to those who had been helpful and a chance too to forgive and be forgiven for those I crossed and whom have crossed me.

Let’s all start the year of the dragon with good spirits and good heart. Gong Xi Fa Cai, everyone!

Happy Christmas!

Hi guys! It’s the holidays and I’m sure a lot of you are still in a frenzy. Well, as for me I’ve been cooking a lot, shopping a lot and till now still looking for gifts for dad. I have the feeling this is a never ending thing and I’m pretty much exhausted. But happy. And looking forward to what the coming new year has to bring..

Anyway, just wanna wish everyone a Happy Christmas and a Fabulous New Year!

A Break…

Well, the break is almost over. Lol. The blog also hasn’t been updated in ages. I guess you can fault going on vacation for that. I find it so hard to get down, turn on the lappie and blog whenever I’m on vacation. I’m sure a lot of you know the feeling. Who wants to work when you’re supposed to be playing.

I was in the Philippines for a few weeks and enjoying some time with my family. We caught up with what’s going on with our lives, talked in length about careers and finances. Also my brother is thinking of a career switch and getting himself a Medical Records Technician Jobs. Well, as long as that’s what he wants, I’ll be behind him all the way.

By now, I’m traveling back home and will take a few more days to ‘recuperate’ hahaha if there is such a thing as recuperating from a busy vacation.

A Personal Post..

I’m sure you guys would excuse the really sporadic postings. I’m going through some really tough family crisis and the urge to blog has been almost zilch. My father is battling very last stages of cancer and its really really tough on us. I’m here in the Philippines right now to help out my mom with his home care. Were providing home care and we just have a doctor who occasionally check him and also regular trips to the hospital for check ups.

Lately though, he has been so weak and getting him to the hospital has been an ordeal. And to top all that, visiting the hospital is stressing me out so much. It’s traumatizing looking at people who are so sick. I think the only health treatment I could tolerate learning about is eotech 512, but I could hardly choose. We all have to deal with the lot we are given. I could only sigh and say a prayer and hope things would turn out for the better..

Itchy Feet..

I’m really itching to travel. Right now, I am in the Philippines for some personal business and when I got here, I suddenly had an attack of itchy feet. Sure, I traveled a bit this past year but they were mostly not the leisure kind. So my sun readers had been on break. I’m now hoping early next year, we could go on a leisurely holiday. I don’t care if its as short as 3 or 5 days as long as I can take a break.

I said early next year coz this year is really out of the question. Financially, I’m drained from traveling to and from my overseas base and Manila, also we have big purchases planned on the third quarter of this year. My sister is also getting married by the end of the year so that means me, hubby and my daughter would be traveling again and would most probably be spending Christmas and New Year in the Philippines.

So now I’m crazily planning and looking up traveling destinations. First on my list would be Bali, Indonesia. I also want to explore some parts of Vietnam. And I want to do some domestic traveling in the Philippines and my picks would be Cebu, Bohol and Ilocos. Sigh. I hope soon I could satisfy the travel bug that has bitten me.
