Toshiba’s First Ivy Bridge Notebook Released in Japan

Today, I’m diverging a little bit from fashion and photography posts and featuring something about technology. At least some very pretty technology.

Lately, I’m loving the ultra books currently being launched in the markets today. Take for instance, I’m totally lovin’ the recently released in Japan ultrabook from Toshiba. It’s sexy looking and its also the brand’s first Ivy bridge notebook. It packs an Intel’s new Core i7-3610QM in two models T572 (4GB of RAM, 500GB of HDD, Intel GPU and DVD) as well as the T772 (8GB of RAM, 750GB of HDD, GeForce GT630M and BDXL).

They both come with a 17.3” Full HD Screen and will be sold respectively at around 133,800 and 153,800 Yen.

I know my laptop is less than a year old but I can’t help but gush about these ultrabooks and want to have one. I’m not sure its practical for me, knowing my lappie is relatively still new and in tip top shape. But this makes me drool and want it and I’m stopping myself from thinking about how I can get this and do something about packaging for shipping. I do have to reign in my purchasing impulses and see what else are being launched in the market and make a choice sometime.

Samsung Galaxy Note in Pink!

I’m not a super girly girl and while I’m ok with pink in limited quantities, I’m prepared to make an exception for this. Currently, the next item on my buying list, way ahead than a computer cart, the Samsung Galaxy Note. Some say its too big, but I don’t really give a hoot. I usually buy devices which suits my needs. To hell with what people think about it. After all, they are not the one’s paying nor are they they one’s who will use it.

Anyhow, I want this. I was thinking of getting the white version but when I saw this I want it. Samsung Galaxy Note have released the Pink version in Korea. Why Korea only??? Aren’t we getting an international version anytime soon?

It’s girly yes, but I like it coz its guaranteed to be ‘different’. I hate being mainstream, and pedestrian, perhaps that’s why I picked out this phone for my ‘next buy’. It’s eye catching, powerful, quirky and I am in love with Android’s ability to be customized the way I want it and need it. I’m one of those not afraid to tweak and challenge technology and if it comes in a pretty package too.. why not?

This phone definitely has the wow factor. I wonder if this is made only for the Japanese market? I’m raving about Panasonic’s ultra thin (7.8mm thin) P-04D Eluga Smartphone.

This elegant smartphone boasts of a 4.3” 960×540 OLED Display a 1GHz Dual Core CPU, NFC, DLNA, Bluetooth a 8Mpix Camera and Android 2.3.5 with a future upgrade to Android 4.0. And to top all that, its waterproof!

Asian Inspired iPad Styli

Found something really cool. Lol. Yeah, I’ve been lazy, just mopping about the house, reading on la flor dominicana, well, just being a major slob. But I got over the phase so now I’m back to posting. Anyway, let’s start with something pretty and cool. Asian inspired iPad stylus – The Chopstakes! I even love the product name hahaha.

Feature Loaded Fujitsu ARROWS Z Smartphone

It’s been awhile since I posted something tech related. Hmm, I guess i was too preoccupied with all things fashion. Lol. Anyway, just today I was hopping about searching for what’s the latest on the smart phone scene when I came across this. You know I prefer to do my ‘window shopping’ online where I’m in a little less danger of heading to the posguys barcode scanner if I stumble across some good buys. At least here I could ogle but think a hundred times before buying.

But this one would be worth buying! It’s feature packed! Fujitsu Toshiba Mobile Communications soon to be released smartphone called the Arrows Z. It will be released on the AU network from late November 2011. This uber cool gadget runs Android 2.3 on a 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor, and has a 4.3-inch, 1280 x 720 pixel High Definition display. The 13MP camera which uses an Exmor CMOS sensor, can shoot Full High Definition video, which can be watched on a TV via HDMI. The model is also waterproof, and supports Japanese standards such as mobile TV, the mobile wallet service and Infrared Data Transmission.And it’ll come with color choices – white, blue, pink, and black.

LG’s New XNote P220

Set to replace XNote P210, LG introduces the P220, a new 11.6” sized Notebook with an 12.5″ IPS LED Backlight LCD, an Intel Sandy Bridge Core i5-2467M CPU, 4GB of RAM, Intel Graphics HD 3000, a 320GB HDD or a 128GB SSD, DVD, WiFi BGN, HDMI and a 1.3Mpix Web Camera. This will be available in Pearl White, Metallic and Pink and sold in Korea.

Love how this looks! And its pretty good that competition among laptop and netbook makers is getting more and more intense. Well, the features are getting more and more amazing as well as the affordable price. A win-win situation for buyers. At least now I won’t need to settle for refurbished laptop computers, I could very well afford to buy a new one with the prices cropping up in the laptop market.

I do wonder when this will be available outside of Korea…

Ancient art meets modern technology. I love these kinds of things. This time its a ceramic shelled mobile phone that was unveiled by the designer from designer in Jingdezhen. This province has been known as China’s porcelain capital and the phone design is inspired by the traditional Chinese art of ink painting. I love Chinese traditional art work and if it can be on my mobile phone,I would be in heaven.

I do wish they would make this available in the market or team up with a phone maker to make something like a limited edition series..

Samsung Sens 9 Now Available in Korea

Here’s a bit of tech news. I think I’m taking a day’s break from fashion features hehe.. Anyway, I was looking at xbox wireless adapter online when I decided to check out the latest in notebooks. Particularly from Samsung and what’s the latest from Asia..

Samsung Sens 9 has been launched in US last month and is now available in Korea since May 4th! So what’s the big deal? For me, yes its a big deal! I want a new lappie and I kinda dig this! Why? 3.3 inch ’9′ weighs only 1311 grams and 17.3 mm thickness. Thin and sexy. And comes with enough fire power to indulge my graphic design and blogging addiction.

Keith Haring Pop Art LG Optimus Black Cases

Was hanging about one of my favorite sites on the latest Japanese gadgetry and computers – AkihabaraNews trying to check out the latest trends in camera’s but this one caught my eye.

I don’t own an LG Optimus Black phone but this cases makes me want to. Why? They are collaborative products from American pop artist Keith Haring and is exclusive for LG’s new Android 2.3 Optimus Black. I like!! I’m into pop art and this ones are unique without being overboard. The cases are said to be available in Europe next week.

Here’s an excerpt from LG’s Press Release:

SEOUL, Feb. 10, 2011 – LG Electronics (LG) is making a statement in smartphone design with a collaboration with the Keith Haring Foundation. The partnership will see artwork from the legendary American pop artist featured on LG’s Optimus Black, which at just 6 mm (at its thinnest point) and 109 grams, takes the crown as the world’s slimmest and lightest Android-powered smartphone.

“Keith Haring inspired the art world with his energetic, colorful images which are recognized by millions of people around the world,” said Dr. Jong-seok Park, President and CEO of LG Electronics Mobile Communications Company. “We hope to capture some of that ‘joie de vivre’ through this partnership as it’s perfectly consistent with our ‘Life’s Good’ philosophy.”

LG and the Keith Haring Foundation have selected two of the artist’s works to create iconic back covers for the LG Optimus Black. This is the second time LG has worked with the foundation — in 2008 LG and the foundation collaborated on the LG KF600 and LG KF700 with the goal of bringing more art into people’s lives.

The Coolest Rickshaw..

Featured at EV Expo 2011 is the Meguru, the first ever EV (electric vehicle) rickshaw. And just about the coolest rickshaw I’ve ever seen. Mainly because its orange. Nah! It’s really a cool concept and this is not a model car or a prototype.

It’s actually one that is now available for you to purchase. Lol! This is something that reminds me of grandparents. But the Meguru would somehow fit a funky, new age grandparents. Now that I think about it, this would make a nice gift. Maybe not the same as Grandparent gifts from personal creations but its unique nonetheless.

This cool rickshaw design is based on the traditional Japanese rickshaw. The Meguru comes with a compact eclectic engine and battery giving enough juice for a 40km range at a 40km/h maximum speed. And is retailing at 100,000 Yen.
