Tokyo Taxis Now With Wifi

Cool! For someone like me who’s a geek and can’t like without internet connection then this is way beyond cool! This is making me want to high tail it to Japan more. You know, Japan has been on my ‘to travel’ list for a long time already.

Anyway, back to topic. Docomo Japanhas partnered with taxi operators to equip 820 taxi units with onboard free Wifi for passengers! And get this, that goodies doesn’t end there – 100 of them will even have a PSP Go for customers to play with!! Yay! For gamers! Now I wouldn’t mind taking a long taxi ride if I get entertained like that.

This service is currently still being tested and is scheduled to be rolled out in March 2011. And that is not a very long wait, folks! Hmm, I’m envious, haha!

Don’t I just wish our car has this too? Lol! Maybe cheap car insurance wouldn’t do for that. And while I’m on the topic of Japan, this actually spurned me into searching travel Japan photos and I’m really really wanting to travel to this place.

Here’s a video of Japan Travel I found on YouTube. It’s just enough to wet my ‘travel to Japan’ appetite.

LG’s Point and Shoot Phone

At the very least I would say this is very intriguing! I was browsing around tech and gadgets site looking for the latest in gaming computers when I came across a feature post in AkihabaraNews about LG L-03C, touted as the ‘first’ Point and Shoot Phone.

LG L-03C

I just had to share it here. The LG L-03C is the first real “Point & Shoot” Camera Phone or maybe it should be more apt to call it a camera with a phone function..Too bad its only available in Japan thru DoCoMo and is expected to be out in January.

As for the features, the L-03C has this: 12.1Mpix censor, up to ISO 3200, and features a Pentax 1:3.6-5.5 lens with a 3x optical zoom.It also comes with a HD Video recording mode (720p), GPS, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and both 3G+GSM.

As for me, I like how it looks and I like that it resembles more of a camera than a phone =)

King Jim’s Styled Pomera DM11G

I want this. Seriously! I’m a compulsive note taker. I have notebooks, journals, scrap pads, netbook and I even put notes on my mobile phone. Having notes on different places sometimes leaves me so confused and disorganized. And this is a bad thing. I can imagine my hair falling off prematurely coz of too much ‘organizing’ stress.

King Jim’s Pomera series compact note taking device with a full size Keyboard and has now released a Mobile Gundam Special edition of their DM10G, named the DM11G. It looks super cool and functional!

And to add more market allure, well King Jim is releasing the DM11G in three different styles! DM11G comes with a 4” (640×480) Screen, 89MB of internal memory, a SDHC Slot, and runs on AAA batteries and weighs 340 g. Priced at 30,000 Yen, the Pomera DM11G is expected to be out in Japan mid December.

I find the designs too anime-ish and masculine but still its beyond cool. I think I know what to wish for this Chistmas, I wish they had it in Pink! At least with this, I won’t be wishing for the best hair loss products, right? Though, I ahve to wing learning Japanese first lol!

A Red Nintendo for Mario’s 25th Anniversary

Do forgive the two consecutive ‘techie’ post, I just can’t help it! I’ve made up my mind to just buy a gaming device in November and hold out till Cyber Monday comes so I could get heftier discounts, but really I heart this!!!

Nintendo Wii Red- Mario's 25th anniversary limited edition

In celebration of Mario’s 25th anniversary, Nintendo has a limited edition Nintendo Wii in Red color with a matching Wii mote as well as Super Mario BROS 25th Anniversary version! The catch is, its only available in Japan.

The red hot Nintendo Wii Red is expected to be sold in Japan around November 11 and will cost 20,000 Yen. More on this @ Nintendo.

Now, do I have friends in Japan? Hmm,maybe its time I make friends with people living there.. You know they have lots of cool stuff.. Lol!

A Little Gaming Gadget Talk

I’m bored. Exceedingly bored. Why? We had an almost week long holiday here in Phnom Penh and the past three days, my internet connection conveniently zoned out on me. And no one to around to fix it, since, it’s well holiday. Most shops are also closed so there’s not much we could do except twiddle our thumbs.

Then I stumbled upon a spare USB drive and thank goodness I piled up a lot of computer games on this storage and forgot about it. So, I installed games and played till my fingers hurt. This got me thinking, maybe I should buy a game console for times like this? Maybe an xbox gaming console or a nintendo wii?

My daughter got her early Christmas wish of a Sony PSP and her dad bought her one already. Found it on sale in US with lots of game bundles. A very good deal so she’s pretty ecstatic. That leaves me without my own gaming device haha..

Anyway, I’ve been searching online and looking at different video games and so far I’m kinda liking the available xbox games like the Dance Central but on the other hand I’m also drawn to the Wii Fit bundles.

Decisions, decisions…

Cool gadgets and I’m getting quite dizzy with the staggering array of features these gadgets have, I wouldn’t be surprised they’d be sporting radar detectors sometime soon. Now, that’s it for techo gadgets updates..

South Korea’s First Electric Car from GM Daewoo

GM Daewoo Auto & Technology Co., the South Korean arm of U.S. automaker General Motors Co has joined the electronic car bandwagon with the announcement that it has developed the country’s first compact-sized electric vehicle with a maximum speed of 165 kilometers per hour.

GM Daewoo Lacetti Premier

A great news really! It said the critical high-performance battery and inverters were made by LG Chem Ltd. and LG Electronics Co., respectively, while 50 other South Korean companies took part in the development process.

GM Daewoo revealed that the prototype based on the company’s Lacetti Premier and its battery unit has an output of 31 kilowatt hours, with output reaching 150 kilowatts.

I like the way these car companies now are thinking of the effects of what we manufacture to our environment. I’m certain in the future I’d want to have a car like these. And now this is making me wonder about costs and prices, car insurance, maintenance etc..

Sony Walkman’s Latest: NW-A850 and NW-S750

I love media players! More often than not, I have to sleep with some music playing and these tiny little players are a lot better than a sleep aid. I had an iPod, but after I purchased a Sony Ericsson phone with a superb music player and radio, it was shelved and my sister just claimed it now as hers.

A couple of weeks back, I’ve been browsing an electronics store here in Phnom Penh and the all new Sony Walkman series got my attention. Sleek! That’s how I would describe it. And considering that Sony Walkmans are almost icons when it comes to music players I would bet they would sound fantastic. So I’ve been watching out for the latest releases and oh! boy these ones makes me want to go for it, swipe the card, and bring it home.
