Soda rivals Coke and Pepsi is all set to release new “natural-flavored” sodas in the Japanese market this June. Coke’s Green Tea flavored will hit stores on June 8. Its healthy antioxidants, called catechins, and slight green tea aftertaste are targeted at health-conscious young men and women.

Rival Pepsi, on the other hand is all set to release Pepsi Shiso, a basil-flavored soda later this June.

that sounds amazing, actually! i’m a huge fan of any tea, especially green and white teas.  I’m not sure how America in general would enjoy herby/earthy flavored sugar beverages, but I would definitely love to try it!!!! :3 Do you know if they are only being released in Japan or are they going to be released in America?  If it IS exclusively for Japan, where can I go about ordering something like that?

    hi sammi sue,

i’d love to try this one too.. Asians generally love herb flavored drinks.. I don’t know if they are going to be released elsewhere but I read somewhere that this has already been released in Germany but it just didn’t pick up. I’ve been searching for feedback about how it tastes compared to regular Coke and here’s one I found ..@ Akihabara News..They were kinda disappointed.

Now I’ll just look forward to reviews about the Pepsi Shiso..

Thanks for dropping by and leaving me a comment. :)
