Well, the break is almost over. Lol. The blog also hasn’t been updated in ages. I guess you can fault going on vacation for that. I find it so hard to get down, turn on the lappie and blog whenever I’m on vacation. I’m sure a lot of you know the feeling. Who wants to work when you’re supposed to be playing.
I was in the Philippines for a few weeks and enjoying some time with my family. We caught up with what’s going on with our lives, talked in length about careers and finances. Also my brother is thinking of a career switch and getting himself a Medical Records Technician Jobs. Well, as long as that’s what he wants, I’ll be behind him all the way.
By now, I’m traveling back home and will take a few more days to ‘recuperate’ hahaha if there is such a thing as recuperating from a busy vacation.
Haven’t been posting much on my Asian Shopping category. Hmm, something I need to correct. Lol. Ironic coz recently I’ve been shopping like mad from Asian online shops. It’s my current obsession and I’m afraid I ain’t gonna outgrow this shopping mania anytime soon. Bad news for the wallet. Lol.
I have tried a lot of China, Hong Kong and Singapore based sites and I had been itching to try out Korean and Japanese online shops but the problem is the lack of language facility. Most of their sites are in their languages so navigating it and even coming to understand a fifth of what they put on their pages is really beyond me. Until I discovered Rakuten and GMarket. For now, I’m featuring GMarket Global.

Gmarket is an online shopping portal owned by Ebay, so the mechanics are more or less similiar except all items here are on ‘Buy Now’ option. They don’t have auction. This is essentially a place for Korean vendors to sell their goodies at local prices. What is really great about it is that they have an English portal, for international buyers. This elicits a totally thrilled hooray from me. And best of all, Gmarket has loads and loads of goodies, really the selection is very very extensive I could imagine you can find hydraulic crimping tools if you look really hard. And the prices are very competitive particularly on Korean costmetics brands, shoes and apparel.
I also heart their events, coupons, stamps and other perks for buyers. The more you buy, the more discounts you get for future purchases. And they made shopping a lot more easier for international shoppers. They now offer consolidation services at their Gmarket warehouse. You can buy from various sellers, and they’ll combine your packages and ship it in one EMS box. Talk about convenience.
The site is a bit hard to navigate at first but I’m sure with the help of Gmarket Global tutorials you can easily get by..Just Google it! Lol.
It’s been awhile since I posted something tech related. Hmm, I guess i was too preoccupied with all things fashion. Lol. Anyway, just today I was hopping about searching for what’s the latest on the smart phone scene when I came across this. You know I prefer to do my ‘window shopping’ online where I’m in a little less danger of heading to the posguys barcode scanner if I stumble across some good buys. At least here I could ogle but think a hundred times before buying.
But this one would be worth buying! It’s feature packed! Fujitsu Toshiba Mobile Communications soon to be released smartphone called the Arrows Z. It will be released on the AU network from late November 2011. This uber cool gadget runs Android 2.3 on a 1.2 Ghz dual-core processor, and has a 4.3-inch, 1280 x 720 pixel High Definition display. The 13MP camera which uses an Exmor CMOS sensor, can shoot Full High Definition video, which can be watched on a TV via HDMI. The model is also waterproof, and supports Japanese standards such as mobile TV, the mobile wallet service and Infrared Data Transmission. And it’ll come with color choices – white, blue, pink, and black.

One of my fave models in one really fabulous fashion spread. Lensed by Alexi Lubomirski, stunning model Jessica Stam is styled by Charles Varenne for Numero Tokyo’s October 2011 Issue - Puttin’ On the Glitz. The Editorial name is very apt, I must say.

One thing I’ve got to say about this: She’s sporting a really interesting neck piece. Anna Zasada lensed by Joel Lim for Elle Singapore August 2011.

Lensed by Wee Khim, lovely Estonian model Kelli Lumi dons a casual and boyish look for Style Singapore September 2011 Issue. Styled by Sharon Tulasidas and shot in Paris. Kelli wears various brands like Chanel, Calvin Klein Jeans, H&M, New Look etc.

I love love this editorial. The styling is soo urban and appealing!! Wish to see more like these..
I never thought the day would come when I would at least appreciate polka dots. Lol. You see me and polka dots have a love-hate relationship. I view it the same way as someone trying to shove life insurance quotes down my throat. Enter Saskia de Brauw’s fashion editorial for Vogue Japan September issue.

The photos shot by Mikael Jansson were just lovely. Saskia dons luxury clothing and accessories from Tom Ford, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Yves Saint Laurent and others. Styling by George Cortina. The editorial is called Into the Spot Light. This editorial is at least making me see that dots can be stylish in nice doses and if properly styled.
Hey, there are tons of fashion editorials pouring in and I could only delight in it! It’s time to unveil fall fashion collections that’s why we have an onslaught of goodies. Not that I’m complaining since we get also a lot of eye candy. I’ve been drafting a lot of posts featuring these finds so watch out the next coming days for more posts like these. Lol! I actually feel like I’m on a stock up now on Christmas stockings obsession with the way I’m going..
