Pantech Korea To Release an Android 2.1 Smartphone Women-Oriented

I’m seriously curious about the Pantech brand. Too bad its not available where I’m currently based. =) But I’m really pleased that Asian electronic products and companies are fast joining big brands and giving them serious competition too. As for consumers, well this is a good thing, more brands, more choices.

Anyway, Pantech Korea has recently announced that it will be releasing their latest IM-A630K, an Adroid 2.1 Smartphone for the women’s market segment.

The phone has been described with the following features:

Powered by an Android 2.1 OS, the new Pantech IM-A630K features a sleek and compact (114.4 x 55.4 x 13.35mm) design in order to perfectly fit women hands. Specs wise, we have a 3.2 inch LCD Multi-Touch Screen with a resolution of 800 x 480, a 5MPix AF camera module, Bluetooth, and T-DMB TV Tuner. Our Smartphone Women-oriented is available in Black, and White. Note that Pantech plan to release an Android 2.2 updates later.

Dimension: 114.4 x 55.4 x 13.35mm

What do you think? The features listed looks impressive enough but it sure doesn’t look that feminine to me which is weird considering its for women..And oh, I did notice that their endorser is popular Korean actress Goo Hye Sun..

Samsung T-Omnia2 Marks More Than 300,000 Unit Sales

Three months ago, Samsung Electronics partnering with South Korea’s largest telecom provider SK Telecom, has launched the Samsung T-Omnia II and just recently it has reached an accumulative sale of 300,000 units. More than double of the sale of its previous version, the Samsung Omnia I.

The Samsung Omnia II differs from the one offered for the global market. It features a mobile TV (T-DMB) and a changed keypad design. It has user-friendly user interface (UI) including 3.7-inch Haptic AMOLED display, 5-megapixel camera module with auto focus and smile shot functions. It sports a powerful 800Mhz CPU, internal memory options are 2GB or 8GB, and additional external memory supports up to 16GB. Other features include GPS, Wi-Fi, Blutooth, and DivX.

Samsung T-Omnia II’s biggest competitor in the smartphone South Korean market remains to be Apple’s iPhone which is also recording good sales.
