I’m no Japanese but I can’t get enough of ramen. If I ever get to travel to Japan I would definitely be learning more about the Japanese ramen culture and of course stuffing myself full of ramen. But for now I would like to content myself to watching this video from cookingwithdog on How to Make Yakibuta Ramen (Japanese Noodle Dish with Roasted Pork Ribs).

Hmm, at the rate I’m ogling these youtube videos of how to make these Asian food specialties, don’t be surprised if next time I’m after restaurant supplies already. Lol!. This personal ramen mania was just brought about by an article in Babble.com that I read a few days ago. It about 10 Ways to Eat Ramen for Dinner and it features some really easy but drool worthy recipes for ramen! Check it out.

I could never get enough of Japanese ingenuity and creative flair! The earthquake and the nuclear crisis was a really sad and tragic incident but it also makes me admire the trademark Japanese stoicism and unity. And in a time of crisis they band together and use their creativity and technological prowess. While others might wallow in non-essential stuff like dark circles under eyes treatment {seriously, who would think of this at a great time of need}, trust the Japs to come up with another cool innovation.

The Ho! Toilet, an emergency toilet for use in areas afflicted by disasters. This toilet was developed to be useable with peace of mind when there are no toilets or running water, and by putting the supplied tablets into the toilet in advance, odors can be suppressed for approximately one year. I wish I could my hands on one hahaha! I kinda like the feature where the odors can be suppressed! Impressive right? And its quite affordable. ¥500 for a single kit, ¥1,000 for a package of four kits, and ¥2,000 for 10 sets of tablets.

A few weeks back, I blogged about my obsession with Thai food, particularly Tom Yum Goong. I actually managed to cook a decent tom yum already so I’m moving on and want to learn another Thai recipe. I picked another Thai classic: Pad Thai…

Pad Thai
Pad Thai is a yummy dish of stir fried noodles with eggs, tamarind sauce, soy sauce, chili, bean sprouts, tofu, with peanut, lime juice, and coriander etc. This is one of the dishes I always try out in every Thai resto I visit.
How to make it? Check out this video from Pailin’s Kitchen.

ThaiTable also lists down the recipe. {Head over there for instructions with full photos}

There’s one place I wanna visit – China! It’s huge, the culture is interesting, the places… wow! There are lots to go to. From where I’m currently based, its quite easy to travel to China, I could even do it overland. But the problem is that I can’t be issued a visa here and I still have to go back home to my home country to process a visa. Which is such as hassle. But this place will be on my list for sure.
For now I’ve been reading blogs, wikitravel, travel forums and checking out YouTube for travel videos to China..take this for instance…

Also, I’ve been interested in knowing the cultural do’s and don’ts when visiting the place, and found this video simple yet very helpful..

I find this kinda cute so I’m sharing. This is actually the second MV for the single Love Love Love and I’m finding myself liking this more. It’s just so natural and cute. The MV consists of behind the scenes clips of filming for the cover jacket of the single album.

Cool! For someone like me who’s a geek and can’t like without internet connection then this is way beyond cool! This is making me want to high tail it to Japan more. You know, Japan has been on my ‘to travel’ list for a long time already.
Anyway, back to topic. Docomo Japanhas partnered with taxi operators to equip 820 taxi units with onboard free Wifi for passengers! And get this, that goodies doesn’t end there – 100 of them will even have a PSP Go for customers to play with!! Yay! For gamers! Now I wouldn’t mind taking a long taxi ride if I get entertained like that.

This service is currently still being tested and is scheduled to be rolled out in March 2011. And that is not a very long wait, folks! Hmm, I’m envious, haha!
Don’t I just wish our car has this too? Lol! Maybe cheap car insurance wouldn’t do for that. And while I’m on the topic of Japan, this actually spurned me into searching travel Japan photos and I’m really really wanting to travel to this place.
Here’s a video of Japan Travel I found on YouTube. It’s just enough to wet my ‘travel to Japan’ appetite.

South Korean figure skating champ and beauty, Kim Yuna must have saved a country in her previous lifetime. Lol! That’s just me thinking out loud. Why would I say that? See, she’s world famous, she’s a figure skating champion, for someone so young and successful she’s also known to be keen about charities and donating portions of her income, and that’s not all she’s also very pretty!
Whoa! This girl seems to have it all. I know she trains and works hard for what she has now and one can’t help but marvel at what she has accomplished at a very young age. She’s also blessed with charisma enough to charm the socks off a very cold man. And of course, companies are clamoring to get her as their celebrity endorser, so aside from being a figure skating champ, she’s also now making headlines as one of the commercial queens!
Any celebrity would probably envy her slew of endorsements, from air conditioners, to dairy products, to jewelry and apparel, whew! it won’t come as big surprise she’d be tapped to be the endorser for micrometers!

She has a long list of sponsors, endorsements and here’s the latest from campaign featuring Kim Yuna for Samsung Anycall Galaxy Tablet.
